Are these shoes and equipment good?

Okay, I’m starting winter track tuesday and it’s my first time running :( I am scared.
Anyways, I got some equipment today and I would like you nice people to tell me if it’s good for running
-underarmour mock neck compression shirt
-adidas wind pants
-reebok thin fleece
-underarmour womens ua chimera shoes

Will this stuff be good for winter/indoor track? I would’ve gotten spikes but we’re not allowed in indoor track. Are these shoes going to be alright? And any tips for running? I signed up for 200 and 400 m and I’m a freshman girl. We’re going to be practicing on the track and xc course. Will this be warm enough? I live in eastern Ohio. Thank you

all of that looks good. my only advice would be the shoes…go to a running specialty store (not like dicks sporting good or something..) and they will take care of you, they will fit you to the shoe that fits you and how your foot and body works the best. the clothing youll figure out on the way..some stuff might be too heavy too light too constricting. i live in illinois but i run distance..if your a sprinter you might not have to be outside that much considering youd be doing short stuff (hopefully on an indoor track) dont be scared or discouraged if things arent working out right away..it takes time then youll love it..have fun!

It incorporates Polar’s W.I.N.D. Technology, offers water resistance and a user replaceable battery, and is absolutely compatible with the Adidas AdiStar Fusion running shoe.

Heartbeat rate monitoring includes maximum heart rate ( fitness test-based and age-based ), maximum/average of total exercise and of each lap ( up to 99 laps ), 3 target sectors, and audible alarms. It also offers such timing features as time of day ( 12/24-hour display ), twin time zone, day and date display, stopwatch, and alarm with snooze.

Polar Sport Zones :

Polar sport zones provides an easy way to select and monitor the intensity of your training and to follow Polar’s sport sectors based training programs. The training is split into five sectors based mostly on %s of your maximum heart rate : very light ( 50-60%HRmax ), light ( 60-70% HRmax ), moderate ( 70-80%HRmax ), hard ( 80-90% HRmax ) and maximum ( 90-100% HRmax ).

Polar OwnCal :

This feature shows your energy expenditure during one exercise session as well as your accumulated kilocalories during several exercise sessions. You can set daily and weekly exercise goals apropos calorie spending with the OwnCal feature. Because the OwnCal tracks both the energy expenditure during one exercise session and the accumulated kilocalories during a longer time e.g. One week, it provides help in achieving both short term and long-term goals.

Polar OwnZone :

This feature guides you through a suitable warm-up routine and immediately determines a safe and effective exercise heart beat rate zone-your OwnZone-while taking under consideration your present physical condition.
R-R Intervals / Online HR Variability : Measures heart beat intervals and reflects autonomic nervous system in heart beat regulation. The R-R interval measurement is most helpful at rest and at low strengths. Relaxation rate indicates the state of your physical recovery.

About Polar

The 1st EKG accurate wireless heart beat rate monitor was conceived by Polar back in 1977 as a coaching tool for the Finnish state Cross Country Ski Team. The concept of’intensity training’ by heart beat rate swept the athletic world in the eighties. By the 1990s, individuals were looking to heartbeat rate monitors not only for performance training wishes but also for achieving everyday health goals. Today, the same concept of heart beat rate training is being used by world class athletes as well as everyday people trying to lose weight. Polar is the number 1 brand among clients, coaches, and private trainers worldwide and the company is committed to not only producing the best products, but also being the leading educator on the advantages of heartbeat rate based exercise.

what do you think is the best shoe brand for running???

Asics is my favorite because they are light and have a high arch. what is yours and why? (Nike, Brooks, Saucony, Adidas, etc.)

Shoes
I have been running for 8 years now. Though I am biased towards Nike as a brand, I would recommend you to go to a running-specific store, like Fleet Feet in Carrboro, NC. They can help you find the right shoe because people buy shoes that aren’t necessarily right for their feet, but more comfortable or fashionable. But after you get the correct shoes or even if you haven’t, I would go to any major athletics store and ask the sales associates because they are getting paid to know the products they are selling. But make sure you state the use/reason for buying the shoes. Good luck!!!

Hi. Does anyone find Nike Air Pegasus a bit big?

I need a new pair of running shoes. I am UK size 10 (my last pair were Mizuno 10). I tried on Pegasus 10 in a shop and found them to be a bit big. I see that Amazon have size 9.5, but I don’t want to get them home to find they are too small (I am nearly always size 10). Has anyone else found this with Pegasus?
Thanks

The Pegasus has one of the roomiest toeboxes around. If you are not used to it, I could see that making it feel too big. I wouldn’t think that getting a smaller size would be a good idea though, since they will still be wide, just shorter. If you don’t like the fit of the Pegasus, you should go with a different shoe. Did you like the Mizuno? If so, did you try their new model?

Kids Shoes

Any parent or guardian knows how important kids shoes are. It’s not just for fashion. It’s not just back-to-school. Kids shoes are important year round, and throughout their young lives, from toddler to teen.

But getting ready for school is a good reason to look for kids shoes. Some of the best deals of the year are happening at that time, and many parents and guardians buy kids shoes for the whole year and beyond during the early fall. It’s a good idea, and will save a lot of money in the long run.

There are so many good brands of kids shoes to choose from. There are kids shoes for any budget and any reason. Toddlers can be hard to shop for, because their sizes begin to change so rapidly. Some young ones also have special needs that have to be considered. Most manufacturers of kids shoes present a good variety of shoes for the toddler ages for any season. Sandals for the summer, cute little sneakers for year round use, and fancy ones for those special occasions. Pepiped, See Kai Run, and Stride Rite are just a few of the brands of kids shoes that are specifically designed for those formative years.

Of course, as they get older, the choices become a little more difficult. The need to keep up with the latest fashions becomes more and more important as they enter middle school. Parents and guardians have to juggle fashion with budget and practicality, and their job is made so much easier by conscientious makers of kids shoes. Athletic shoes are one of the biggest sellers, naturally, and nearly every manufacturer of kids shoes has a full selection. DC Shoes, Heely’s, and Saucony have the young girls needs covered from size 1 youth to size 10 adult. L’Amour, Naturino, and Vans have many styles of athletic shoes for boys to choose from.

Boots are another popular style of kids shoes. This is partially a fashion choice, but in some states boots are necessary in those cold and wet fall and winter months. Timberland and Hi-Tec make some very rugged yet stylish boys footwear for cold weather. Sperry, Primigi, and See Kai Run also address this need in toddlers sizes with some fully-functional and precious footwear that will stand the test of weather and wear.

Girls boots just have to be hip while being practical, and nobody knows that more than L’Amour, Timberland, and Umi. Anything and everything is available for kids shoes when it comes to boots for girls, including ankle-high leather in every color of the rainbow to knee-high fringed boots. Traditional leather boots with buckles are a popular style for girls boots, and Timberland, Primigi, and Umi have a multitude of styles and colors to make both the kids and the parents and guardians happy.

Anytime is the right time to shop for kids shoes, but the first weeks of school are the best for many people. It’s also a good time to start planning those Christmas presents, and kids shoes can fit the bill.

About the Author

Looking for Kids Shoes, Toddler Shoes, Girls Shoes, Boys Shoes, Stride Rite, Primigi Shoes or Back to School Shoes then here is the perfect Kids Shoe Store for you.

The Top 10 Spring Fashions…

Bewitched, Bothered & Bewildered
The Top 10 Spring Fashions…
What to Celebrate & Avoid

As spring fashions flood into the stores, it gives us hope that warmer weather is on its way.  While those of us in the colder climates are still a little way off from actually wearing the styles, it is fun to look and dream, and even while the snow is on the ground, shopping is in full swing.  What’s great and what isn’t?  Let’s find out:

Bewitched

Color:  The colors of the season promise to be more inviting than what we saw last year.  Instead of a sea of black, gray and yellow (although they are still lurking), they are promising that black is out (well, as out as it will ever be – which means it is still around but not featured as strongly as some seasons), and lighter brighter colors are in.  Turquoise and teal are big (yay!) as is coral.  Neutral tones (beige, champagne and cream) are everywhere.  When it comes to neutrals you must be absolutely sure you find the one that works best for you, or you will completely disappear or look slightly ill.   Think pastels are passé?  Wishful thinking!  They are just calling them “ice cream” shades instead of pastels.  Whatever you call them, be careful.  They do not look good on everyone.  Above all, beware of khaki!

Patterns:  What would spring be without floral patterns?  I find that people either love them or hate them and this year they will be hard to avoid.  You can choose soft, romantic florals or big, bold and bright flowers.  If floral are not your cup of tea, then animal prints is the other perennial favorite (leopard and zebra reign — often in unnatural colors).  Want to be on the cutting edge?  Try this season’s “digital” print.  Designers are now using their computers to digitally alter and add energy to their designs which gives them a futuristic feel.  When it comes to prints and patterns, there is something for everyone – as it should be!

Ruffles: Ruffles are still hot and are on everything.  Placement is what is key to keep them fresh and, yes, even edgy.  Of course you will find them along the neckline and hem but a new addition is on your shoulders.  Positioned properly and assuming they are a stiff ruffle, they add strength and structure to a sloped or narrow shoulder.  Those of you with strong, square shoulders will probably want to avoid this look – for the rest of us, they are fabulous.  And, adventurous fashionistas can wear them on their shoes…gorgeous!

Dresses.  All hail the dress!  I remember, not too long ago; when there was a 15-year drought during which you could not find a day dress to save your life, so please let the designers know that this trend is a keeper!  What’s not to like about a dress?  They take so much less work than trying to create a winning skirt and top combination, and you can toss one on with a great pair of shoes and your favorite jewelry and you’re done.  Plus there are so many different styles, fabrics and colors out there that you would be hard pressed not to find at least one that works for you.

Draping and Ruching.  Smooth, lightweight fabrics that are so prevalent in the warmer weather are notorious for drawing attention to every lump and bump.  Yay – draping and ruching to the rescue!  Strategically placed drapes of fabric and ruching (gathers of fabric) can magically camouflage those areas and make this a non-issue.  This trend is a girl’s best friend!

Accessorize, Accessorize, Accessorize!  Accessories have always been a wardrobe’s secret weapon and this season they are hotter than ever!  Everything is big, bright, and there’s lots of it.  Wear necklaces, bangle bracelets, earrings, scarves, and belts.  Whether your overall theme is warrior princess, tribal, gothic theme, or simply bold and chunky (suited to the scale of your features, of course) the important part is that it makes a huge statement and expresses your personality.

Bothered

Socks with Sandals:  Yes, believe it or not, this is a new trend.  A bad one, that’s for sure (it’s on my top ten of fashion don’ts!) or else someone is playing a mean trick on us.  Maybe it’s all just a bad dream…

Ripped and Torn Jeans: They call it cutting edge but unless you’re under 25 (and even then it’s questionable) save it for around the house.  I will never understand the appeal in looking so sloppy?

Tapered Pants:  Do we have to bring back everything from the 80′s?  Want to make your hips (and feet) look gigantic?  Wear pleated tapered pants.  Done!  Better yet, how about wearing red pleated tapered pants.  Picture that…on second thought… don’t!

Bewildered

Underwear as Outwear: Unless you really know how to make this trend look elegant, skip it.  It can very easily (and most often) look trashy.

Shoes: This is a mixed bag which is why it is showing up in the bewildered category.  While there is every imaginable style to choose from (that’s good!), there are a few looks that are not my favorite.  Those cage heels or gladiators heels as some call them just won’t go away.  While they are still as unflattering as ever when worn with a dress, the good news is that they are making many of them in lighter neutrals so you can find one to match your skin tone.  This helps to keep the shoe from making your legs look stubby and in some cases even elongates your legs (but don’t push it!!).   They are great fun with pants – where you just get a hint of sexy shoes peeking out.

That said, I do love that light neutral ankle boots are in for the spring.  I love boots and would wear them all year round if it didn’t get too hot (but it does).  While I wouldn’t wear them with a skirt they will allow me to wear boots with pants during the transitional months.  Yay!

High heeled clogs are in.  They aren’t awful but again, not my favorite – they are just so clunky.  It is also obvious that someone definitely has a desire to make women’s legs and ankles look thick and chunky.  This is evidenced by the current trend of flat sandals with thick (or multiple) straps around your ankles.  Dangerous! Unless you are absolutely sure you look good in them (i.e., you have long, thin legs and ankles), run right by this trend.

I have an idea…how about if someone wears all the bothered and bewildered styles together – picture that!  Ripped (tapered) jeans worn with a sheer top so you can see your bra and socks with gladiator sandals.  This would give anyone nightmares!

This season’s (bewitching) trends have potential.  Remember to shop between now and the very beginning of June.  After that (even if it hasn’t really gotten warm where you live) everything goes on sale and Fall inventory starts to trickle in.  I don’t know about you but I’m looking forward to a delicious spring and summer!

Information about Pump Shoes & Trainers

Skate shoes (also called trainers, converse, retro trainers) are specially designed and produced to be used for skateboarding. Although many people who don’t skate still choose to wear skate shoes as regular footwear, the skate shoe is designed in such a way to include specific features for use in skating. These features include a flat rubber or polyurethane sole, a leather or suede exterior and heavy-duty double/triple stitching.

Many features of the Skate Shoe are designed specifically to increase durability. The retro trainers often undergo harshness from the skateboard’s grip tape when worn by skaters. As a result, skaters are continually needing new shoes. Attention to the type of material used (suede, leather, plastic undercoating) and the strategic placement of these materials (exterior, toe cap) help increase the life of retro trainers. Other features such as protectors and lace loops are created to keep laces from shredding by protecting the areas that come in contact with grip tape.

Other enhancement features include: double/triple stitching with much thicker threads to prevent tearing, a broader width in order to create added surface contact with the board, thicker tongues and sides for balance, and deeper patterns on the sole for added traction and grip.

In 1917, the world’s first sneakers were produced. They had canvas tops (a Converse implementation) and rubber soles and were called Kids. They were unofficially called sneakers because the rubber soles made the shoes quiet and stealthy. With sneakers being used by athletes during training session and to compete in sporting events, these shoes started getting called “trainers“. Later on to be known at retro trainers because of the period they became popular. During the following six decades companies like Nike, Adidas, Puma, Vans and Converse began to successfully produce sports shoes designed for sports such as basketball, running, football, tennis, and skateboarding.

Modern times have seen huge technological advances since the first canvas and rubber shoes were created. Improvements were made in the trainer shoe’s comfort, cushioning, support, grip and breathability. Skateboarding trainers now offer excellent protection from impact-related injuries, and retro trainers have better support and stability to decrease ankle injuries, giving the skateboarder the confidence to try new moves and maneuvers.

Converses come in almost all colors. They have slightly different looks and color choices depending on whether they are men’s or women’s. The designs and looks also vary depending on what age group a particular converse is catering to. The largest demographic of stackers are teenagers. They tend to prefer the Converse skating shoes with the midrise or high rise ankle protection. As a matter of fact, these shoes have become so popular, that in middle and high schools across the United States skaters and non-skaters alike are seen sporting these particular shoes.

Skateboarding as a sport is also becoming more and more popular by the day. Community skateboarding parks are being built by cities all over the country; and youngsters are crowding to these parks in large numbers. As the sport gets even more popular, demand for stake shoes and trainers will only get higher. Upcoming years may also see new technological additions to skate shoes that offer the skater even more versatility and style as they take their skateboards for a spin.
